Lorne is home to some of the steepest paved roads in Victoria, so it should come as no surprise that we selected it as the venue for the inaugural running of the Amy's Wall hill-climb event on Saturday 13th of September from 5:30pm.
The team at Cycling Tips and Subaru will be offering fantastic prizes of $1,000 cash as well as spot prizes for the best pain face. Europcar are also offering a great spot prize of three days free car rental.
From a four-up standing-start, riders will launch themselves up the first gruelling section of the iconic Bay Street towering above the Lorne Lifesaving Club. Hitting more than 20% in the first brutal metres, gear selection will be everything as groups of four riders at a time grind their way to the top of the taxing 110m climb.
With large crowds expected, some incredible prizes, and a dusk finish, the hill-climb is the perfect appetiser to get you in the mood for Sunday's Amy's Gran Fondo.
Do you have what it takes to become the first Amy's Wall King and Queen of the Mountain?
There are only 250 spots available and places will sell fast. Tickets are $20. No registrations on the day.
